After tugging his blue silk ascot tie from his neck, Will tossed it almost giddily on the back of the sofa in his apartment. It had been a remarkably satisfying day. He had been officially signed to star in André’s new film and had received a script to take home and read to get an overall sense of his character’s motivations. He could already tell that he would have to become accustomed to André’s unusual way of working with actors. But that was fine—it was what he’d been hoping for when he’d wished to work on more serious films.

Then there had been the unexpected moment of lust between him and André that had ended with an invitation for more. He moved towards his bedroom, undressing as he did. It was almost habit to get ready to go to the club after a day of work if he didn’t have other plans, but he had no desire to go there. In some ways, he actually felt a bit of revulsion at the thought of it.

Once he was completely nude, he padded into his tiled bath area and turned the spigots on to fill the tub. All he really wanted to do was relax in hot water with a few drops of sandalwood oil and look over André’s script. It seemed to Will that he was ready to begin anew, set the course of his life towards another shore. One where he could find his pleasure in a good man’s company and in a well done artistic performance.

He was dreadfully curious about André’s directing style and his fascination with The Method. There was still that little knot of fear inside him that churned, making him wonder whether he would be good enough to do justice to André’s vision. He wasn’t an insecure man, he believed in his ability to succeed at whatever he put his mind to. Yet, somehow, it mattered to him what André thought. Never had he cared one way or another if someone approved of him or thought him worthy. André had managed to capture him even more than Will had believed was possible.

The heated water had made a pleasant steam in the tiled bathroom. Condensation clung to the white tiled wainscoting that was edged in a green pattern vaguely reminiscent of a Byzantine design. The woodsy smell of the oil filled the room and Will tossed one fluffy black towel on the floor next to the claw foot tub and another on the rail next to it to dry off with when he was done.

Once he’d eased himself into the soothing embrace of the bathwater, he relaxed his head against the curved back, letting his mind drift to all that had happened to him that day. He honestly hadn’t expected André to grab him the way he had, to be the one to make the first move. Especially not so soon. That alone had Will rather intrigued. It had also been quite the relief when André hadn’t retreated from him after they’d finished.
